But really - I'm just a regular person. Thanks for the info on your mother. There is so much institutional knowledge out there that is so important. And you've given me a good idea for a cheese press!Ohiofarmgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02606563929369721111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-82752056135591235012011-05-17T20:05:14.399-04:002011-05-17T20:05:14.399-04:00You are one hard-working woman to take care of you...You are one hard-working woman to take care of your family with the things you do! All women that do this type of work should be praised for their efforts. Your blog post reminds me of stories my mom told me about her mother making cheese. I think the method was: After removing the bulk of the whey, she put the rest in an old clean pillow case and hung it on the line outside to drain the rest of the whey out. Then, she put it between boards with a rock on top to flatten it out somewhat like a wheel. I don't remember the method past that point.

I really admire your committment to what you do.Veggie PAKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13250455377130668508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-88701338656902224232011-05-17T09:42:01.563-04:002011-05-17T09:42:01.563-04:00Ever thought about doing a video?

I think they moved their satellites or something. So I missed the whole thing - I'm gonna have to catch up on hulu.

SFG - nope. It tastes like cheese - different and not as salty (I could add more and maybe I will). But I know some folks (you know who you are) who think a lot of goat cheese tastes bad. But then, some people dont like beets and there is no explaining that. For me, I like a bit of a tang. Some of my fresh cheeses don't have it at all and are nothing but smooth and fresh as a daisy. None of my milk tastes goaty. Does that help at all?Ohiofarmgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02606563929369721111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-37239123581988703322011-05-16T21:50:32.680-04:002011-05-16T21:50:32.680-04:00When you make chedder from goats milk, does it get...When you make chedder from goats milk, does it get a "goaty" taste as it ages"small farm girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01485314092236803411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-65461660545990152862011-05-16T21:16:41.110-04:002011-05-16T21:16:41.110-04:00Mmm...cheese.
