But then, I haven't seen another rooster in this flock that's any better, so I guess it'll have to do!

Very nice pictures.basicliving@backtobasicliving.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07782631124134813311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-64949964676156887992010-03-01T18:35:29.866-05:002010-03-01T18:35:29.866-05:00We LOVE the hens... a good strong hen house, a fen...We LOVE the hens... a good strong hen house, a fenced yard, and a couple of hard workin' farm dogs keep all the predators away. Early on I taught the dogs to "walk the line" -- to do a perimeter check...and also pee all over the fence line.
;-)Ohiofarmgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02606563929369721111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-26612207134988501352010-03-01T18:24:01.193-05:002010-03-01T18:24:01.193-05:00I love your pictures and the chickens are all ador...I love your pictures and the chickens are all adorable. We had all sorts of chickens growing up and I loved that. We have so many coyotes, racoons, skunks that I am hesitant to get started with this venue, but I look at your pictures and sure want to!Weekend Cowgirlhttp://weekendcowgirl.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-19945188101026487002010-03-01T11:40:37.060-05:002010-03-01T11:40:37.060-05:00Thanks Julie! They are really dinosaur-y... and for the same amount of work to dress a chicken you get 5 times the meals from a turkey.

Little Pansy is a mutt mix from Big Pansy, a light brahma, and we think one of the buff orpingtons.

When one of our hens goes broody we grab up all the eggs from that day and stick them under her. So we get a wide range of chicks.Ohiofarmgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02606563929369721111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7789865586418282697.post-15120652338208682072010-02-28T17:41:41.870-05:002010-02-28T17:41:41.870-05:00Your turkey picture is pretty.
