Ohiofarmgirl's Adventures in The Good Land is largely a fish out of water tale about how I eventually found my footing on a small farm in an Amish town. We are a mostly organic, somewhat self sufficient, sustainable farm in Ohio. There's action and adventure and I'll always tell you the truth about farming.

Nibbles!

Apparently Nibbles has a death wish. I let the goats out of their yard to graze on the hill. They had the whole hillside and the only place Nibbles wanted to graze was.....

... right by the dog yard. The dog yard full of dogs. Zander and Kai thought Nibbles was amazing. She was totally giving them the finger and saucing all around. Then she ignored those bearkillers entirely. Nibs was being just a little bit to devil-may-care about the whole things. So I called Dog #1....

Zoikes!

Let's see that up close...

I love the white showing in her eyes. That's just right, missy. That dog ain't playin' and you know it. She scampered off after that. Oh Nibbles.....

Happy Friday everyone!

Nibbles and bits? Could be a new flavor of dog food. We had goats for a while and I think it would take a whole herd of them to get a cup full of brains some days.

Nibbles is so funny!

I let my young chickens out of the coop today. Or rather I tried to let them out. They were very suspicious so I had to grab one and toss him out. The others followed, panicked, then couldn't figure out how to get back in over the low quail barrier. I had to toss them back in. Failed experiment.

So I put a trellis as a ladder on the inside and a sifter ladder on the outside. Nope. By then they were sure they were gonna die if they got near that door.

Then one of the quail hissed at me in territorial angst so I abandoned them to their coopdome.

Free range my a$$.
Stupid birds.

Your dogs just seem so cool! It's great you can rely on them as farm hands :)
