Kai was very happy about playing in the water trough.
Shine was trollin' under the bridge.
And there was this little heap of baby goats.
The funniest thing that happened was that Shine, our King of Barncats, came walking up dragging a rabbit that was almost too big for him to carry. I... ahem.. did not get a picture of that. He is our best assassin. We love our silver puma and congratulated him on his kill. But we have no idea what happened to it - by the time I put down my tools I couldn't find him. Even tho he got it fair and square I really didn't want him to eat it... it could be anywhere.
Happy Wednesday everyone! Has any body seen a slightly chewed on bunny carcass?

Gott'a love barn cats!
BTW, are you going to Blog-A-Day this month? Want me to link ya in? Come on, it's not like we could get you to shut up for a single day anyhow :)
I love the canine smile!
LOVE the pile of baby goats. Our ferocious hunters will often leave "evidence" of their great hunt, in the barn. Nothing like walking into the barn to a bunny head...staring at you from the straw. YUK! Batten down those hatches.... this storm is going to be a doozey!! Be safe!
Saw one 2 weeks ago. Over the space of 4 days we saw our mama cat show up with 3 mice, a rat, and a cottontail that was as large as she was. It's funny to watch 5 week old kittens eat a mouse head, bones and all...CRRRUUUNCH.
Strangely, I found the hindquaters of a small rabbit in our field last night. Not a good time for rabbits.
Not sure what got this bunny..rumors of coyotes on our hill, though!
No, had a quick look outside and your rabbit carcass is not here!
Why didn't you want him to eat it? I saw one of our cats dragging a rabbit that was bigger than he was. At least he was dragging it until the dog decided it was his instead. Apparently rabbit and squirrel are the only acceptable critters to eat on our farm. Oh! And baby deer. I'm always finding pieces and parts of animals in the yard, gardens, and flower beds. Once, I saw just a rabbit paw "reaching" out of a flower bed. As I was looking at it, the dog came running at top speed and snatched it right up. It was so funny! I guess that's "fast food" in the dog world.
Hey Carolyn - how did i miss this? I'll come over on your fb to find out more.
thanks Jenna! our Kai is a princess - such a happy girl. and a stone cold killer. ;-)
