Ohiofarmgirl's Adventures in The Good Land is largely a fish out of water tale about how I eventually found my footing on a small farm in an Amish town. We are a mostly organic, somewhat self sufficient, sustainable farm in Ohio. There's action and adventure and I'll always tell you the truth about farming.

And then it snowed...

Today we were expecting mild temperatures and our big idea was to go on down and get a load of gravel to fill the big hole developing at the end of our driveway. But then this happened....

So much for that big winter storm missing us.

Looks like today is going to be about sloth and fire.

Happy Saturday everyone! Are you hanging out by the fire today?

Yeah, I hear ya. We were only supposed to get a dusting. It's been snowing for two hours now. Of course late last night the forecast changed to 1-3 inches. Wish I had a job like that...wrong 1/2 the time and still keep your job. Ah, well...good day to hit the library, get the next book in the Outlander series and curl up on the couch. Have a great day my friend!

It is going to be 60 degrees in Oregon. I'm not all that excited. It will kill hay sales cause the grass is now growing.

The snow missed us but we have had freezing rain, which I absolutely hate. Last time, our little olive tree was so weighed down, it snapped. Luckily enough, the roots put out new growth, and two years later, we have an olive bush - not quite a tree, but doing OK.

You are probably over it but your photos of the snow are beautiful. We always want what we dont have. I'd like snow on the ground so i could have a reason to have a fireplace. They look so much nicer than air conditioning units. Not much atmosphere. Enjoy your sloth and fire.
