Ohiofarmgirl's Adventures in The Good Land is largely a fish out of water tale about how I eventually found my footing on a small farm in an Amish town. We are a mostly organic, somewhat self sufficient, sustainable farm in Ohio. There's action and adventure and I'll always tell you the truth about farming.

Good Morning Sunshine!

Good Morning!

 Oh glorious morn!

Oh happy day!

Look who appeared today - the first sunflower!

Ok its summer now. Once the sunflowers start to pop there is no going back. Have a wonderful day!

My youngest daughter had around 2 dozen sunflowers growing across the front of the house. Unfortunately, we are in a free range cattle area. They had just gotton to about 18" tall when the cows decided to come graze. Who knew that cows liked sunflowers? Guess the next ones will be planted behind the fenceline.

BTW, got a line on some Livestock Guardian Dogs. May be getting a couple of Great Pyreneese.

Sara - I'm loving this weather! If it were like this everyday I'd never complain.

Thanks Robin!

CC - ha ha! Yep... I just love them too.

Hi Larry! Great to see you on the blog. And glad that you escaped all the fires. I'm guessing those cows know exactly what is good! Great work on the GP's - folks love them. I'm an Anatolian Shepherd fan myself - but they are not for everyone. I met a GP last weekend and it was the nicest darn dog. Everyone came up and petted him. Great work!
