Here in The Good Land I made my place beside the still waters. I became a tiller of the soil, a keeper of the flocks, and a hater of pigs.

I'm doing the "can can" too.
Just finishing up my "mater" season here. I gave WAY too many away. That won't happen next year now that I've got my first year of canning under my belt. Enjoy!
I got sauced yesterday (one batch), making bread and butter pickles today. My wife just got some peach puree ready for the freezer. Don't you just love this time of year? We have to take turns for who gets to use the kitchen!
Hey Robin! Whoot! Love the canning! I can can - and I'm super happy about it. yay!
Great work, Tami! Dontcha just love learning new skills? You'll be a mad canner next year. And dont forget to look for deals at farm markets and road side stands.
;-)
I love getting sauced, Villager! And yes i LOVE this time of year - I feel so productive. I've got a peach/blueberry cobbler in the oven. The best thing we did last year was freeze some puree... totally hit the spot in the mid-winter. Great work! Wait, pickles... I'm running right over.
I'm busy over here canning too! I'm tired as all get out.
I just finished up the "Pear Butter" and I think I'll have to rest or wait until tomorrow to get back into making puree tomatoes.. This is really what we have been "Gardening" for..:o) I'm tired, but happy :o)
Freezing Corn! So if the whole economy fizzles, me and my friends will not die of a starch deficiency.
Love the canning, tomatoes are just starting to come in thick and fast. Gonna be a fun couple of weeks!
We are doin the fair while my maters are all turning and waiting to be canned, Yikes!!!
Ginny, I've been watching your pear progress! Wow! Great work - tired and happy is just right.
Thats the way to do it, Jo/Len! I love having corn in the winter - GOOD corn that is!
Yep, Dave, we'll have to stay on our toes to keep up. I'm planning on doing smaller batches, more frequently. Its easier to work into the day that way. But we'll see how it goes.
Good Luck at the fair! Them maters will be waiting for you.
