Ohiofarmgirl's Adventures in The Good Land is largely a fish out of water tale about how I eventually found my footing on a small farm in an Amish town. We are a mostly organic, somewhat self sufficient, sustainable farm in Ohio. There's action and adventure and I'll always tell you the truth about farming.

What Yesterday Looked Like

This is what yesterday looked like...  First, the dogs and I went down to the woods....

We looked at some tiny apples.... they are almost ready.

The lighting was stunning all day.

The golden morning light made everything look magical.... even these sunflower seeds.

Then we had pepper day. Pepper day will last thru tomorrow. When I'm done all my pepper needs will be met. For the year. How great is that?

Happy Wednesday everyone! Did you have a magical morning? What was your yesterday like?

Yesterday was a nice fall day but we are getting clouds coming from the east coast today and maybe rain but that too is fall weather. Nice and cool.

Must do a pepper day here. Huh - I have a meeting that I don't want to go to tonight, so if I strategically start blanching my peppers at like 5:30, there is no way that I can make my meeting for 6. After all, I was busy in the kitchen. (plus, it will use up the peppers that are sitting on the cupboard.)

We went outside in the morning, explored the tall grasses around here and then had to go inside and change out of wet clothes. It was nice!

I've been looking at apples. I want to make cider but don't get it done. I'm a lazy farmer.

Really lovely dappled light in the woods there. It's been gorgeous up here...
