Ohiofarmgirl's Adventures in The Good Land is largely a fish out of water tale about how I eventually found my footing on a small farm in an Amish town. We are a mostly organic, somewhat self sufficient, sustainable farm in Ohio. There's action and adventure and I'll always tell you the truth about farming.

Blessed Be - Peaches!

Every summer I praise God for our orchard friends.... check out these beauties. Yesterday I spent some time with them picking their stunning harvest. I got these because they were unsellable. Can you believe it?

Some of these were James and the Giant Peach big!

Still warm from the sun, a bit of brown sugar and cream.

Don't worry - there will be pie later.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Peaches are my favorite, none survived on our trees this year. I got the unsellable ones last year, lots of stink bug damage on them and the ones we had. It is hard to grow them without gallons of poison.

Mmmmm, Peaches and cream have to be one of the best things ever.
I don't understand why those peaches were not saleable, they look great.

That has become one of my favorite snacks this summer.

oh my - that looks lovely. Guess what we found - a foreclosed empty house in the neighborhood, with a peach tree in the front yard laden with fruit. I'm thinking it's be bad to let it all go to waste.
